Comic Pitch

What is a Pitch?

A comic pitch is a proposal submitted by a creator to the Whaleden community. It outlines a story concept, visual style, and the creative direction of a potential comic franchise. The community then votes with their support — financially and socially — to determine which pitches move forward into full production.

How it Works

  1. Create your pitch — Submit a story concept with title, synopsis, genre, and sample art
  2. Community review — Fans browse active pitches and choose which ones to back
  3. Funding threshold — When a pitch reaches its funding goal, production begins
  4. Launch — The comic is published on the platform and backers receive exclusive benefits

Funding

Community-driven funding

Pitches are funded directly by fans. There is no corporate investment required. Your story lives or dies by community support.

Funding mechanics:

  • Creators set a minimum funding goal before submitting
  • Fans pledge support during the active pitch window
  • If the goal is not met, pledges are returned
  • If the goal is met, production kicks off and backers receive early access
